automediapool.com PRESS RELEASE A catalogue that asks far more questions than any other car book: 1,661 QUESTIONS ABOUT THE IONIQ 6 THAT HYUNDAI DIDN’T WANT TO ANSWER Short version: With his new paperback, “1,661 QUESTIONS ABOUT THE IONIQ 6 THAT HYUNDAI DIDN’T WANT TO ANSWER,” German motor journalist Hans-Jürgen Tücherer not only asks more questions about a single car than has ever been done before in a book. He also tells the story of how this book happened. It would never have been written if the press teams at Hyundai Germany and Hyundai Europe had simply done what they’re paid to do: answer a curious journalist’s inquiry, which initially consisted of just a dozen or so points… The 180-page paperback with ISBN 979-8183691856 is now available exclusively on Amazon for 14.99 euros! Here is the direct link to the English-language edition: https://amzn.to/4uYaGAG Alternatively, the e-book “1,661 QUESTIONS ABOUT THE IONIQ 6 THAT HYUNDAI DIDN’T WANT TO ANSWER” is also available on Amazon for 9.99 euros. Long version: It all began in the summer of 2025 with an idea that was perfectly in tune with the times: How would a die-hard petrolhead like German motoring journalist Hans-Jürgen Tücherer experience the move to a modern electric car? What would his experience be like? For this personal experiment, he chose a 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6—which, incidentally, did not come from the manufacturer’s test car fleet. With more than four and a half decades of professional experience, the author knows the ironclad rules of journalism. After several months of daily life with this electric sedan, he wanted to discuss a good dozen open questions about the car with the press department of the Korean manufacturer. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a fruitless endeavor and a waste of money on phone bills and postage. The media contacts at Hyundai Germany and Hyundai Europe did not respond to any of his numerous attempts to reach them by phone, email, or even good old-fashioned letter. Nor did the managing directors of both companies respond to the letters addressed to them personally. It was only after a “letter of appeal for assistance” was sent to José Muñoz, President & CEO of Hyundai Motor Company in Seoul, that the press department of the German subsidiary contacted journalist Tücherer and asked him to submit his questions in writing. But since some time had passed since his initial attempts to make contact, the list had “grown a bit” in the meantime. Asked, sent! Immediately! The receipt of the questionnaire was confirmed by email at Hyundai’s German headquarters in Offenbach am Main with astonishing speed. But after that, silence returned. No further response! Nothing! It wasn’t until two weeks later, in response to a written inquiry, that Hyundai’s press office wrote that they “could not provide detailed written answers to this extensive list of questions.” However, they did offer the opportunity to “ask the most important questions” to one of their “experts” in an interview. What a “generous” offer after three months of doing nothing! Too little, too late! But to ensure that all the work put into this unfortunately completely unanswered list of questions about the IONIQ 6 wasn’t for nothing, Hans-Jürgen Tücherer has now published a paperback that asks more questions than any other car book in the world has ever asked: 1,661 QUESTIONS ABOUT THE IONIQ 6 THAT HYUNDAI DIDN’T WANT TO ANSWER A compilation of questions that are as interesting as they are relevant—questions that will be of just as much interest to the owners of this electric sedan as they will be to the IONIQ 6’s potential future customers. The target audience naturally also includes the hardworking teams at Hyundai dealerships and service centers who sell, maintain, and repair these cars. And people who are considering buying an electric car and want detailed information about the unique features of a vehicle with alternative propulsion technology. But within the 180 pages of this paperback, you’ll find more than just the 1,661 questions that the press departments of the Hyundai Motor Group didn’t want to answer. Which, by the way, is based in South Korea and not North Korea. Although that would explain a thing or two about their “willingness to communicate” … The “Making of” chapter explains how this book came to be at all, given the “wall of silence” at Hyundai. This 180-page book, whose ISBN is 979-8183691856, is now available exclusively on Amazon for just 14.99 euros! Here is the direct link to the English-language edition: https://amzn.to/4uYaGAG Alternatively, this fascinating book is also available as an e-book on Amazon for 9.99 euros. P.S.: Caution! Be warned! In addition to the occasional question about the Hyundai IONIQ 6, this book may also contain traces of satire … PPS: Hans-Jürgen Tücherer is also continuing to work on the book he originally planned to write about his transition to electric mobility and his experiences with the Hyundai IONIQ 6 in particular.
